A few days ago we had a conversation with the US Immigration officer in charge of our case. It turns out there are a few things we still need to do in order for all our paperwork to be in proper order to obtain approval to bring our daughter into the country.
The first two items deal with the reality that we will have an adult in our home this time next week(!!!). Because Christina is turning 18 she not only had to get fingerprinted by the US Citizenship and Immigration Services, but we also needed to have statements in our Home Study that indicated her health status and some legal provisions. The last item was also something that needed to be added to our Home Study regarding our qualifications to adopt a healthy child.
The travels of a US Immigration document.
These items are now written into the Home Study and awaiting State of Illinois approval before the process with USCIS can continue. Hopefully this will be within a week or so, and we will be approved to travel in early February. Please continue to pray for us that we can travel soon to pick up our new daughter!
